Yes, like all members of the armed forces you can get deployed. Recovery Mechanics can get deployed, on both exercise and operations, with the units they are attached to. The amount depends of the requirement of the unit you are attached to.
With regard to future employment after the army there are various lines of employment you can look into with the qualifications you can gain as a Recovery Mechanic. For example Car and HGV licenses, and Opportunity for tracked vehicle and plant licenses. You can be gainfully employed as a HGV driver or working in construction on plant vehicles with the experience and qualification in the army.
