Do I need a reference from my school to join?

Good evening, AFC is available to all between 16- 17 & a half years old.
You'll be happy to know that you do not require a reference from school as a prerequisite.

What would happen if I couldn't get to the Assessment Centre to do my fitness test?

You'll be given Train tickets at the Armys expense and you will be collected from the train station and given a lift to the camp so should cover any inability to attend.
If this still presences an issue then you won't be able to join without being assessed.

How long is the fitness test per day?

It's not all just about fitness. It's team building activates, its your medical exams. You will be expected to complete the entirety on of the intake, failing that will result in your rejection from the Army.
My recommendation is to stick with it, this is a fantastic career and I'd seize all opportunities to maximise your chances for success.

How long would you estimate the joining process if I start it in December (age:15 years and 9 months)?

You can apply to join from 15 years 7 months of age. As long as you are 16 by the time you reach basic training. AFC Harrogate intakes are in March and September.

How long will I have to stay in AFC Harrogate if I want to do Dog Handling?

For Combat roles and RLC Driver it's 40 weeks for everything else it's 20 weeks (not inclusive of leave).
