An Engineer Troop Officer may have to use lethal force at some point in their career, however, compared to some other roles, it is unlikely. The role of an Engineer Troop Officer, among other things, is to lead a Troop of Engineers to conduct engineering tasks. A deliberate attack is more likely to be assigned to, for example, an Infantry Officer.

All serving soldiers and officers are trained in the use of lethal force and may have to use it in line with their duties and the law of armed conflict. However, this doesn't mean that we just run around killing people, it isn't a video game.

Although the Armed Forces can use lethal force, this shouldn't be a reason you want to join. Similarly, if you feel that you wouldn't be willing to use lethal force, this may not be the career for you. If you're experiencing thoughts of harming others, you should get in touch with one or more of the below organisations:

    Hi,

Thanks for the answer. it’s more so I’m Muslim so due to my religious beliefs I don’t want to unnecessarily harm people.

If it’s like extremely unlikely that such events take place Then that’s good.

There are lots of Muslims in the Army, so you can't be the first person who has wondered this. It may be worth looking through some of the past questions on this platform, or submitting a question to see if any of the volunteers here are also Muslim?
