Army doctors can be on the same camp or live off camp depending on requirements. For example if you are married you could be in service family accommodation living in a house of camp, this would also be relevant if you own your own property. If you are single there would be an officers mess which you would stay in, this would allow you to stay on camp or slightly off depending on layout of the camp that you go to. In regards to making friends with others there is no rule against this however as an officer you would be expected to maintain a professional relationship at all times especially with other soldiers or lower ranks. this would apply in both the UK and abroad.
