can i prove myself please help. also i went though CAHMS will that stop me
In regards to Asthma there is a minimum amount of time required without treatment including the prescription of medication, I had childhood Asthma and when I joined and I had to be 4 years clear of treatment and pass a spirometary test at selection to prove my lungs were working fine. I do believe there was talk of this changing to 2 years clear however i`m not sure if this has come into effect.
When it comes to mental health I am not qualified to answer and it`s not a question we can answer on here, however my advice would be that if you are clear of your Asthma you should apply, your application will be screened and if you meet the medical requirements for selection you will then be sent for medical testing at the selection centre and get definitive answers. At any of these points if your are rejected then you still have the options of appeal, you may even get what`s called a deferral from selection meaning you haven`t been straight up rejected but you may have to return at a later date with further medical evidence. In my opinion it`s better to apply and be rejected than not apply and regret not trying.
All the best.
