Afternoon, the majority do keep their rank but it is dependant on the Capbadge and what qualifications you have to take across i.e Class 1 or Aviation Advanced as it is now called in our case. You should raise this question to the capbadge your transferring too, they will be able to tell you. Hope that helps.
