After training you will be given options where you can say where you would like to be posted to. Just because you said that you would prefer to go to a specific location does not necessarily mean that you'll be posted there however the more justification you can give the more likely it is to happen. Some jobs require you to have completed specific courses to be eligible for postings to a specific area so you may be limited to begin with but this is another consideration taken into account whilst postings are being decided upon.
As to where you will be living will depend on your relationship status if you are married you will be entitled to a quarter where your family can move with you if you are in a long term relationship the same rules apply but you will only be given a quarter if there is availability. If you are single then you will be given a room on camp of which will either be shared or you will have your own room with shared ablutions or an en suite depending availability.
Once you are at a unit or a medical facility you will conduct further training go on placements and further your knowledge and skills as a medic potentially working towards a paramedic qualification or more.
