I’m choosing between Combat Engineer and Logistic Specialist roles in the British Army. What does a Combat Engineer do day-to-day, and do they see frontline action? Also, which role has better skills transfer to civilian jobs after leaving the army?

Daily jobs vary depending on your current job within your trade, you could be making sure that your unit has enough stores for an upcoming exercise, carrying out daily maintenance on your stores equipment, or something completely different like going on a sports tour.
Everybody in the army is trained in Dismounted Close Combat, however, Combat would not be your chosen role so its unlikely you'd be selected to conduct anything like, for example, a deliberate attack.
