Hi I’ve been looking into joining the army in the mental health department now I was just wondering if you know anything about what happens with parents who want to join? I have two young boys and I’m a single mum with no help.
Child care provisions are usually sorted by yourself as the individual responsible. Although help is provided by the military to source placements in schools etc the overall responsibility falls onto yourself once joined this process becomes easier however there is little to no provision for this during basic training so depending on trade you would more than likely need to find someone who could look after your children for the initial 13-14 weeks. Any information regarding this would be best directed to the NRC who should be able to guide you further on 0345 600 80 80
