I am a first year medical student and I want to pursue a career in Army medicine. Any information on the bursary scheme and it’s application would be helpful
Hi Jack,
The bursay scheme is available for those studying towards a Degree in Medicine on a course that will result in full registration with the UK General Medical Council.
You should apply while you are still at university, before the end of January each year and ideally not later than your first year to qualify for the full amount but you can get reduced amounts if you apply later through your studies. You must pass the Army Officer Selection Board for professionally qualified officers and the Arm Selection Board for the Royal Army Medical Corps to qualify for the bursary but each step will be explained as you progress.
Applications are progressed initially through, https://apply.army.mod.uk/login, as with all applications and you can then be passed to our professionally qualified officer team who will be able to assist you further.
