As for switch roles whilst still in Basic training this would be a resounding no unfortunately. For very 3 big reasons:

    1. Changing role may have you aligned to the incorrect part of devoted basic training, it's important for all Soldiers to be given the appropriate training in order to operate effectively in each area of responsibility.

    2. The Army invests an eye watering amount of money to training each individual, hence the need for a return of service to justify such an investment.

    3. Choosing a career path by the time you have reach the AC is paramount, changing you mind mid way through training delays others from joining when an individual has taken the role from someone else that is left waiting, in turn a wasted job role that someone would have loved to have the opportunity themselves.
