This question is about CMT class 2/1.
Going from class 2 to class 1 can take around a year depending on performance and completion of apprenticeship. Class 2s have to be supervised to ensure that they're capable of doing the job and working independently, once this has been identified that you are capable then you may be put onto your class 1 course. You'll then have access to more courses such as trauma life support and also will be able to teach team medic and basic life support as well as being able to get posted abroad to be able to work independently. These oppoutunities are severely limited as a class 2.
