Medical assessment
Hello,
This link has a video with details on what happens at the medical during the recruitment phase https://apply.army.mod.uk/how-to-join/can-i-join/medical
There are no blood tests involved at this stage.
Prior to passing out from Phase 1 training you undergo a further medical, this is similar to the one above, and again no needles are involved.
The Army will only ask you to undergo a blood test as part of a medical assessment if something in your medical history suggests you need one, and you are most likely to be asked to arrange this yourself with your GP.
A blood test may be required during Phase 1 training, this is separate to your medical assessment, and it is to determine your blood group as this information is required for all serving personnel.
