Officers and Soldiers usually move between the two. As a Soldier you will most likely start Regimental Duty at The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment in London before moving across to the Service Regiment, The Household Cavalry Regiment, in Bulford. As an Officer it will likely be the other way around. Some personnel are able to stay at full time roles within the Mounted Regiment. Usually this requires you to follow a trade, for example becoming a farrier. I hope this helps
