Can you choose between which regiment in The King's Guard you join, or is that assigned to you?
For example, would I be able to choose if I wanted to join the Grenadier Guards over Coldstream, Scots, Irish, and Welsh?

The policy has slightly changed here. When you join the careers office will taken on your preferences as to which regiment you would like to join. Where you life/where your from could also play a part when the Army looks at it options.
The Big deciding factor will be manning. If there is a particular regiment struggling for humans, you might be ushered that way.
