I am interested in a career in the army and wanted to know if it was possible to go through sandhurst and become an officer and then join an infantry regiment and become a sniper. Would there also be a particular regiment that would be best for a sniper?
Hello, while it may be possible to do the snipers course as an officer its not likely. Soldiers are the hands on specialists (in this case snipers) and as an officer you could become the leader and manager of snipers but as an officer it might not be the hands on using of rifles and tactics that you are looking for.
Thank you so much for your reply,
Would there be any other jobs in the army that evolve mainly just shooting as that is what I am most interested in because I do a lot of target rifle shooting at the moment over distances up to 1000 yards.
