Can you be an officer in the Household Division??

I have been doing research on what roles / positions you can have but I can't seem to find any information on being an Officer in the Household Division. I definitely know I want to be an officer and through looking I like the Household Cavalry or the Guards due to the dual combat and ceremonial role. However, I can only find information on being an Officer in the Household Cavalry and that does not include how to progress through the ranks. I don't think I am so keen on the vehicle role of the Household Cavalry but like the work with horses, etc. so wondered if there was other roles?? Also, can you be an officer in the Guards (with the dual role of combat and ceremonial) because I can find any information on that??

    Hi there,

To be an Officer in one of the Guards regiments that make up the Household Division, you will be an Infantry Officer first and foremost - https://jobs.army.mod.uk/roles/infantry/infantry-officer/.

All officers conduct officer training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst prior to onward progression to the Phase 2 which for the Infantry is the Platoon Commanders' Battle Course at Brecon. You will join RMAS without a cap badge and, through the application and interview process during the course, will be offered a place in a Regiment whilst there. Our Household Division soldiers and officers rotate through ceremonial duties and all will conduct some during their army career.

You can also become an officer having been a soldier first. Either through commissioning after a full career in the Army or by applying from the ranks having served your first four years.
