Hi Zak,
I dont know about your specific situation, but when i was a Reservist i chose to join a unit that was further away from where i lived as i like their role. I didnt drive and the Army gave me a rail card that gave me discounted tickets and i would get the train and then cycle from the station to the camp. This worked for me but might not work for you. I suggest you speak to the staff at your local reserve centre to find out what they can do. The reserves can be flexible to fit around you and they might already have someone who lives near you who drives each week that you could catch a lift with. You never know until you ask them.
Hope this helps.
