Can I train as a cardiologist through the army? I am currently in Y3 of med school.

    Hello,

The requirement for secondary care consultants across the specialties is reviewed regularly. If a gap is identified then a training post will become available.

Therefore, while it has been and probably will be possible to train as a military cardiologist, it is not guaranteed there would be a training job available at the time you want/need one.

Having said that, if after GDMO you are still set on becoming a cardiologist, and there are no military training posts available, the Army will support you with your application to the NHS to train as a civilian.

I hope that helps, sorry I can't give you a more definitive answer.
