Can I study Architecture at University (2025) and apply/work for the army reserves at the same time?

I am interested in both the Operative Military Intelligence and Design Draughtsman roles (still deciding). I complete my Construction and the Built Environment course this year and will be taking a gap year in which I assume would be the best time for me to start my reserve application process.

    Hi Loreal,

The answer is yes absolutely! The Army Reserve only require a minmum of 27 Days a year to be eligible for your bounty. This might sound like a lot, but broken down over the year, it could be as little as: 32 x Weekly drill nights ¼ day = 8 days, 1 x Annual camp = 15 days and 2 x Training Weekends (these are usually held monthly) = 4 days. My recommendation would be to get you application in as soon as you can as this will allow the process of medical etc to move along and then you can start properly in the reserves during your gap year.
