Can I push back my start date for training if I already have plans that I can not cancel

    Hi Isabel, You could do this as a potential, just bare in mind if you change you mind too close to going to Basic Training then you could take someone's place that misses out due to the short turn around.


    Additionally, personally i wouldn't recommend delaying joining, fundamentally the career in the Army is the most important thing you will ever commit to. Any delay as such wouldn't reflect kindly on you if you are already in the pipeline.


    At the end of the day it's up to you to make that decision. As someone that's honest and wants the best for all candidates in the pipeline, If you have the opportunity to join sooner then I'd do that. As a Soldier who joined aged 18 my only regret is not joining at 16.
