Can I join the Royal Irish as a combat medic?
Me and my friend (currently in cadets) want to join up at the same time however he wants to join the royal Irish, I too want to however want to do a job like a combat medic is it possible to be both a combat medic and be in a specific regiment?

Hi there,
Unfortunately you do not join as a Combat Medic to specific regiment. After your Phase 2 training, you will be given options as to where you will be employed depending on the spaces available but there are not guarantees for a particular regiment.
You can be an infantry soldier and conduct medical training such as Team Medic. Whilst not as specialist as a CMT, they are a valuable part of the medical chain.
