Can I join the Army with history of mental health?

I have had 3 episodes were I was prescribed medication- during the past year I had 2 MH reviews were the mental health practitioner stated I am not suffering from any mental health issues and the medication is unavailable too. My last episode was hormal not depression (termination) - agreed by MHP

This would not necessarily be a ban however this would be up to the medical team to make the final decision. Sometimes there are time bans based on number of episodes and frequency or time lapsed in between each or your previous one. All is looked into in great detail by the medical team to ensure the final decision is the correct one.

Please put in your application as per normal and the medical team will get back to you as soon as it is appropriate to do so or the careers centre will contact you on their behalf.

Hi Jordan, out of curiosity what are the time ban lengths per episodes they look at if you are aware of them? I haven’t required an appointment since November 2021. Many thanks!

This will vary for certain things not 100% sure on mental health but most time bans can be between 1-5 years dependant but only the medical team will advise you on if this is necessary if deemed not suitable for service.
