This is considered on a case by case basis and will be up to the medical team to make the final decision. They will consider severity, treatment and duration of the condition especially if on medication as it will not always be possible to be obtained in remote areas.

If I have an isolated complaint about a skin rash from over 5 years ago which was concluded to be a one-off and didn't lead to a diagnosis, with no other skin conditions, would that cause my application to be rejected?

If it was a one off and no diagnosis was made this could work in your favour, however it is still up to the medical team to make the final decision. I can only suggest you apply and fill out the relevant details and the medical team will look at this and all other issues and make their final decision based on what is found.
