Although you can not practice children's nursing you can re-specialise into a role that the Army has still using your nursing degree.
So I can do children nursing and join the army then do another nursing degree?
As long as you are registered with the NMC then you will be able to re-specialise into a field that suits the Army setting without having to redo the degree. As this is a specific job role with a professional qualification you would be better of talking to the PQ (Professionally qualified) team at the NRC National Recruitment centre on 0345 600 80 80.
Will I have to doing an officer route to specialise or can I still do the regular soldier route?
Nursing roles are available as both soldier and officer roles so it is entirely up to you, you can also commission to become an officer later down the line if you chose to go that route later in your career.
