Can combat medical technicians do surgery?

And do I have to go through med school to become one?

CMTs can do minor surgeries provided they are a CMT 1 who has done their BATLS course, this will allow you to do needle decompressions, surgical cricothyroidotomy and suturing. However these would only be in exceptional circumstances otherwise you would nee to go to med school to become a doctor or a nurse to work in this capacity.
