Can they also work outside hospital setting on deployments and help with casualties or in humanitarian aid?
Hello,
It would be unusual for an army nurse to apply to transfer to the RAMC to become a CMT, it's usually the other way around, and you wouldn't be able to switch between the two more than once.
Army nurses are key members of our regimental aid posts (usually comprised of a doctor, nurse and CMTs), and will deploy alongside the regiment on operations and exercises in a role 1 facility (not a hospital). Most nurses in these roles will have additional qualifications in battlefield trauma and primary healthcare.
Additionally nurses may be part of a hospital team or a medical regiment and deploy in those roles.
I hope that helps answer your question.
