It would be great to hear anyone's experiences of working in this regiment (for reference I am looking to apply to the MSO role).
The Army is currently changing to adapt to new situations a so there is a lot of renaming units, where they are posted and what there roles will entail.
3 Med is still currently a light role which provides immediate support to those on the front line providing Pre hospital emergency care to help stabilise the most critically wounded. This is also made up of different units which allow the capabilities to be met and allow soldier to keep on fighting by providing such things as dental care too.
The MSO job would be the same regardless what regiment you would end up at just the change of capabilities would be different. The MSO job role specifically is to act in a non clinical capacity analysing information and being the link between command and the troops on the ground. Ensuring that everyone is in the right place at the right time with the right kit to maximise efficiency and overall outcome.
Please look at the below link that will better describe some of the information, as i said previously locations may be changing.

Thank you very much for your detailed reply. I will continue to monitor with regards to the restructure, to understand the future locations and capabilities of the units
3 Med has recently moved up to Catterick after being disbanded and 5 med has been renamed to 3 med.
Confusing as that sounds not sure on the capabilities they now provide but 5 med was a armoured unit so may want to do some research into them too.
Thanks for the information on the relocation - I could see that this was planned but wasn't sure if it had happened already. Will definitely continue to research both.
