We cannot advise on fitness but the best thing you can do in consult with your doctor first and look at the army entry requirements and ensure that you can meet the required standards. The standards set are the army standards and any application made will not allow you to proceed until you have cleared medical and fitness once in the application process we can help you more in order to achieve these goals

    Hi Benjamin,

As Jordan says unfortunately is correct. That being said, if i was to do it all over again, i'd train as abit of an all rounder.

If i was building from scratch, i'd run slow, very slow, to better build up endurance. Most make the mistake of attempting to run fast before actually being able to sustain the pace. Running slowly also reduces risk to injuries.

I'd also attend the gym too, simply to understand the functional movements of lifting weights, nothing heavy, again to reduce the risk of injury.

The fitter someone is when joining, the easier basic training is. Being able to understand/maintain pacing whilst running and the fundamental compound movements required when beginning life in the Gym to me would have been essential starting place.

But of course, thats simply what i'd do. 🙃
