Hello William, In general yes, you'll also find yourself part of a group of people that like doing those things as well. You'll typically live in an Officers' Mess when you first join your Battalion which means the social life is pretty great, of course if you want to strike out and do your own thing on weekends that's fine too.

The only exception to this is if you are on large scale exercises or on an operational tour, but these normally come with down time at the end or partway through as well.
