Are there roles in the army as an officer where I can come back to family every night

I want to work as possibly an officer or a role that is a fit where I get to come back to family every night or only very rarely work away is this possibly

    thats not really possible.


    as an officer at basic training at RMAS you will be kept within camp for as much as 14weeks i think.


    once you have passed, you can apply to join your local regiment. if your successful then, depending on the armys requirements theres no reason you couldnt go home. but you will have to deploy on training events, courses and maybe operations for extended periods of time.


    also after a time at RD. officers post to external roles. theses will likely be away from your proffered location.

    Basic Training alone for Officers is broken up into 3 separate terms of 14 weeks each.

    Additionally, the day to day commitments of any Soldier or Officer may not allow this. Especially earlier in your career, you would be expected to go away alot more frequently IOT gain the experience you need to be effective in this line of work.
