I'd first point you in the direction of the Army website to narrow down the broad job interests, these will give you quite a detailed expectation both academically and physically.

Whilst most roles "business as usual" typically function Mon - Fri, this being said it entirely depends on your units operational commitments. I'm sure you can appreciate the Army doesn't just down tools and leave ourselves open for an attack. as a collective we operate 24/7 - 365 days a year.

I understand completely, i started the Army single and now have a wife and 5 kids. The heavily discounted housing we get is a hugely beneficial perk that i utilize to it's fullest. I've paid as little as £140 for a month for a 3 bed house. As a higher rank i now currently pay £270 a month for a 4 bed house. Could be worth looking into.

I actually live with them. I move around from place to place with them every 2- 3 years. Almost like a holiday to an extent, laying foundations in new places and as soon as it starts to get boring having explored the area, we move again. Certainly a big perk.

The only time they are unable to travel with me are for exercises or deployments. That being said it's a break away and well received all round. I love them very much and know it's reciprocated. But we all need time apart sometimes. 😆
