River M. asked a question to James S.
I am aged 15 and seeking to join the Army Reserve (as an Officer) when older. I live in Staffordshire, and have an interest in horses but also combat duties. I believe that the Royal Yeomanry suits this criteria, but am not certain. Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.
Sorry bud I'm not sure.
After a quick look online, I can't see any obvious units. Every unit/role tends to have a reserve unit though so I'd imagine they is a reserve guards unit. A trip to your local careers office or reserve unit might be a better idea.
Joining the reserves wasn't something that appealed to me. However, if at the time of joining, that is the best option for you then do it. You might find its everything you wanted or you want to join the regulars.
Ah, same here, when I look online I can't see any clear information, quite a bit of it isn't entirely up to date.
Well I was planning on going to a careers office at some point, so I will do. I was planning on joining the Reserve, and if I end up liking the military I'd try and transfer to the Regular Army.
Thank you, much appreciated advice
My dad (ex Coldstreams and ex RASC) was interested in applying for this ceremonial unit:
