Sometimes I suffer with heat stress panics, this is where I fail to acclimatise properly and overheat and get nauseated. I've been taking steps and exercise to improve my body and mind for stamina and heat, but I worry that I won't know if I'm fit to join the army as I get anxiety around overheating as I have a great fear of vomiting (especially in public areas or around others) I am hoping to know if I should expect a lot of high heat activities and if there's any specific ways I can improve my heat tolerance. Thank you
Good Morning and thanks for your question,
Sorry to hear about the issues you have been facing, hopefully they subside soon! In the army you will be required to work in various environments. But that does not mean that you will be forced to succumb to the elements. We have heating in buildings where it is cold, and air conditioning in buildings where it is hot. The same goes for vehicles too.
The welfare of our soldiers is absolutely paramount, and ensuring they are fighting fit whenever required is something that we always aim to achieve. When going to a new country you will always be given time to acclimatise before being required to do anything that could put you at risk. As well as this, the army will give you the opportunities to experience different places in the world and their environments.
Finally, you will also be given some of the best medical care in the world whilst in the army, so in the rare event that something does go wrong, you will be in very safe hands and your care will be provided where required.
Hope this helps, if you have any more questions then feel free to ask.
