The British Army is currently undergoing significant changes, including recent changes around the policy on beards. I’m aware that a draft letter was submitted in January of this year proposing updates to the Army’s Tattoo standards. However, I’ve been unable to confirm whether these changes have been formally accepted or implemented.

With the above being said the below points would not be accepted.

• offensive tattoos (Racist, Sexist or Extremist)
• obscene tattoos
• Tattoos that could undermine the Army's Values and Standards.

I would recommend visiting your nearest Army recruitment office. They’ll be able to assess your tattoo in person and provide you with accurate, up-to-date guidance.
