I know they’re in the army, but I’m wondering, are junior soldiers all rough and don’t take others needs into consideration? I’m wanting to join but I’m worried that they’ll all be the “stereotypical teenager.” I feel that I could do the job well but I’m someone that needs to be around good spirited people especially in something like this. Are they people I could rely on and hopefully become good friends with?
Hello, thank you for the great question!
I was a Junior Soldier at AFC Harrogate. Going through training with no one I knew, I shared that same concern. But I was proven wrong as everyone that is in the platoon is in the same boat. I grew to know them more and in the end became really good friends with them. I can not grantee what every junior soldier will be like going through training.
However with a positive attitude and positive mind set that will rub off on your team to make a positive atmosphere. This will aid you and the new friends you can make within your journey in the British Army.
