My son completed the assessment and passed. However, a repeat prescription on eyes was requested, results of which mirror that submitted prior to assessment. He’s received news that his corrected vision in right eye 6/15 falls below standard and he’s permanently ineligible. What are the options?
Hello Colin,
The entry standards are set as a minimum to be able to join the Army, if an applicant falls below those standards there isn't often anything you can do. However, if your son would still like to appeal he should speak to his Recruiter, or the local Army Careers Centre (ACC) to get the latest appeals process. (This platform is designed to allow potential recruits the opportunity to ask soldiers questions about life in the Army: there are a few volunteers who work in recruiting, however, most of us are in trades not related to the enrolment process).
You can find your local ACC details on this page: Your Local Army Careers Centres
I hope that's provided some clarity, feel welcome to follow up if you have any more questions.
