Age limit to join

Matthew M. asked a question to Dorian T.

I have recently tried to join the RAF but failed the medical through colourblindness for my role, I was wondering if I could apply for the army as a armour driver? I am 35 years old and will be 36 in June this year. Thanks

Hello. The maximum upper age is 36 to join the army. However you have to be under that by the time you finish the application process and go to training. The application process can take between 6 month to a year so you may find yourself running out of time, even if you make an application now. You are, of course, welcome to make an application and try to complete the process in time. Another option for you may be at a local reserve unit, and you don't know what the reserves are you are welcome to ask here. Thanks.
