about my hair.

Anonymous asked a question to Claire W.

I keep my hair long on top and shaved on sides in memory of my great-grandmother, who died in the Shoah after being forced to shave. This is identity, not fashion. I will give everything to the Army, but not cut this. Can it be accepted?

    British Army Hair Standards

The British Army has updated its hair policy to better reflect modern society and maintain high standards of appearance. The new policy allows servicewomen's hair to be worn in a bun, ponytail, plait, or cornrows in working dress.

Male soldiers are allowed well-groomed hair, including twists, cornrows, and locks, provided it does not cover the face or touch their collar or ears. The policy aims to offer greater choice while maintaining the disciplined image expected of military personnel
